I don’t like ground turkey. I don’t like the texture or the taste.
Guess what? I really, really liked these meatballs! They were great and a terrific “vessel” for the marinara sauce I made to go with spaghetti. They guys loved them too and asked me to get some buns so they could make turkey meatball
hoagies…sandwiches. (I am the only one in my house who calls sandwiches in long buns “hoagies”). I can’t believe it! And guess what? They are pretty healthy too!
1 lb. ground turkey (I used 93%lean)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup parsley
1/4 cup grated parmesan
1 tsp basil
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp pepper
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup Italian breadcrumbs
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet or two with foil and spray with oil.
Combine everything together. (I used my hands…much faster than trying to use a spoon.) Roll into 1 inch meatballs. Place the meatballs on the pan and bake about 30 minutes.
What did I love about this recipe? I love how it is made in one large bowl. Truth be told, I tripled the recipe and froze a bunch! We all enjoyed them..and I am not really a turkey fan!
What didn’t I love about this recipe? Nothing! Promise! Easy, quick clean up, healthy, tasty…all good here.
